Row House, Hallowell’s historic preservation organization, contributed $4,000 to the City of Hallowell for the purchase of the flag pole and its granite setting. The addition to the park is dedicated in memory of Allen Strickland and Wesley Umphrey.
Granite City Park in Hallowell, Maine is at the north end of town, just off Rt. 201 with a beautiful bulk head looking over the river. And is the site our the city's famous chairs used by one and all.
It is a beautiful park where Hallowell hosts many of its festivals and music events.
Why is Hallowell called the Granite City?
